Projects High Desert Hop Up

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Felipe Toltecatl, Jul 21, 2015.

  1. I hope I'm not starting this thread too early. I work very slowly! The goal is a 40's style Model T Touring hop up. So here's what I'm starting out with.... A solid '30 Model A frame scored from a friend in El Paso, a '47 Ford front axle dropped 4" and converted to a spring over set up with a Posies spring and a set of new wishbones from Speedway. The rear end is a rebuilt '40 Ford with an open drive conversion also from Speedway and an original Model A rear spring. She has rebuilt '47 Ford brakes in front and '40 Ford brakes out back.

  2. As far as motorvation only a flathead will do. It's a 59AB with an Offy dual carb intake and two Holley 94's. Transmission is a T5 out of an S10 (that's where I cheated and also what will keep this out of the really cool traditional events like TROG and the Hot Rod Hill Climb in CO). Oh well.

  4. The body is an original '27 T touring scored here on the HAMB last year.

  12. New water pumps go on this weekend and hopefully I'll get the motor cleaned and painted too.

  13. So yeah I work pretty slowly and it's been hot as hell the last couple days in southern New Mexico but I did manage to make a lil progress. The flatty is just about ready for the new water pumps and a fresh coat of high temp racing green engine paint. 20150727_180513.jpg 20150727_180513.jpg 20150727_180513.jpg

  14. One more scrubbing and I'll start spraying.
