What kinda revs can you realistically turn on a ford 360 with some good valvetrain and rod bolts? Seems like a short stroke decent sized bore combo would be a pretty good high rpm motor. Any thoughts?

  2. If you want to be safe, 6500. If you have really good valve springs, 7500. The valve train is usually the weakest point in all motors except for the Pontiacs which have weak main webs and rods.

There are some oiling mods that are a good idea. Check on club cobra or an FE forum, but I think the 427 blocks have slightly bigger main oiling p***ages to handle the revs and the other FE blocks benefit from opening their oil p***ages to this size. By the way, 390 and 427 have the same stroke crank. 54chop
