while I went to school I spent a lot of time in auto shop cl***es trying to soak up as much information as I could and tinkering away on various projects of mine and my friends I was very fortunate to go to a school that still offered a program like this as it seems that for one reason or another they are disappearing from more and more schools all the time students at a school that opened across town a couple of years ago started a car club and are putting on a fundraiser car show to raise money to start an auto shop program it is this saturday (4/27/13) 12-5pm 800 W Pioneer St, Redlands, California I'm not affiliated in any way with this group, just thought it was a good cause and although I can't make it due to preexisting obligations I figured there would be some on the sight that might swing it if they knew about it besides it seems they are into ricers and imports so it would be nice to show em that real cars are like facebook link https://www.facebook.com/events/625053727510356/?fref=ts and there is a $15 entry fee
If the parents, businesses and community at large put pressure on the school board, they will get better results.
A school that STILL has an auto shop? Amazing; they seem to have all dried up around here. When I was in high school, before you could take Auto Shop, you had to take, and p***, Auto Basics. My older sister took Auto Basics, but in those days, girls were't allowed to take Auto Shop. There was no way in the world my sister was going to do better than me in Auto Basics, and it was tough to stay ahead of her; quite the incentive to do well. A few years latter she actually rebuilt the 327 in her 1968 Camaro, with help from her boyfriend; she's an R.N. now. Butch/56sedandelivery.
