    1953 Studebaker 2R5 pickup.
    Age: 15
    Year: 1984
    Location: agricultural eastern Washington
Influences: 1980's Hot Rod magazine (think pastel street rods)
    Project Supervisor/Mentor: Dad

Cobbled together from available parts mixed in with too much early 80's 'street rod wannabe'.

Still have it, still working on it trying to correct my past mistakes.

BTW, my dad put more night after night effort into my truck than he ever did into either of his 31 Chevy's - with NO complaints.
    Quite a guy!

  3. Here's my High School Hot rod... bought it when I was 14 in 1984... built it over the next three years to look like this for my senior year in '88.

    The chicks dug it.

    Sam.

my highschool hot rod story was pretty recent (last year actually) i .have a 1965 ford galaxie with a 1962 406 tri-power setup everyone at my rich as private school drives new beamers and benzs so i have a blast whipping some ass in town from redlight to red light. i bought the car for $800 and replaced the 352 with the 406 i had it bored .60 over and put in a holman-moody solid lifter cam with a milodon oil pan and pump, the thing is a beast. i didnt bring it to college with me bc of the cost of gas so i have a lame ass v6 mustang up here

Here's a couple you might enjoy. My first one was a five window in '54. Note the 25 louver hood. It went with the car to some Mid Missouri round trackers so I could buy my next ride, the roadster shown below in '55. American Racing Grey (primer) was the color of choice in those days.

One of my High School Hot Rods was a 1936 Plymouth Coupe that ran a 292 Y-Block with a beefed up Merc-O-Matic, 4/11 possi (Ya it was a Y-Block this was in 1963). Real fun to drive and the only '36 Ply Hot Rod in or around Artesia, Ca. Double dating was fun, squeezing 4 of us in that front seat was great. Sure wish I had a picture or two of that car, I traded it for a '56 Mercury Monterey (I have pictures of it!).

  9. I must agree with you, not all cars posted here is HotRods... But I just figured, it would be fun and respectfull to those, who really drove HotRods in highschool, to post my first car - so those highschool-rodders could enjoy the shine of the glowing envy from us, who has yet the dream of owning a such... :)

  10. Some boys have just figured it out at first - we others must first start in something less, and fight our way to be in a HotRods drivers seat! :)

Can't wait to see it. There was a kid at my high school that had a black galaxie for about a year. It looked great. I think he let his sister drive it once and it got wrecked. Never saw it again.

  14. FINALLY!!!

I finally found a fair-priced '30 A-Ford tudor, as I have wanted for soooooo long!... Never gone to highschool, but it'll be my first Rod!

I still have my high school ride, my F-1, but I graduated in 2005. :D I enjoyed having the oldest vehicle at school, but the majority of the kids didn't really notice it. Oh well, I had plenty of fun in it. :D

Still got my high school "hot rod". Well, it's wasn't the first, but it is the one I drove the year I graduated. Bought it for $100 wrecked and put some new sheet metal on it. Wasn't fast, and didn't handle worth a crap. But it would spin a tire on the speed bumps that the school installed and I almost wrecked it again when I punched it on a wet, brick street. It had add-on A/C, but otherwise was so stock, it hurt..... I put the Cragars on that I bought for my first car, and they're still on there today......

    After some replacement sheetmetal......

Today.... Not much more than a "driver", but she's got some class.....

My senior year of high school I sold my old '63 MG Midget & picked up this unit ... a '68 ElCamino . Hot motor , 4-speed - wish I still had it :( . Yes , it's a muscle car , but was one of the hottest units that sat in the parking lot of the school back in '87 .

Me and dad built this 56 back in 1981-82. Drove it to high school and everyplace else a LOT! Stuff sure was a lot cheaper back then!

As a matter of fact, I forgot to mention I still have the car today. Just put another 40 miles on it this afternoon.

I don't want to ruin this thread with pictures of my Crapvair.
But I'm a freshman trying to sell my soul for something I could start a hot rod with..

Well, right now I'm a junior in high school, and right now I'm 16.

Here is a few pictures of my first car, that I bought when I was 15.

    1957 Buick Super Riviera (56R)

Seeing these pics again really get the blood flowing... it's a good feeling. I have since purchased all the chrome, so it has the potential to look better than it does in these pics, though it doesn't actually look better right now because I completely gutted the interior and removed the 364 Nailhead and Dynaflow Trans. I also took the front clip off, and that's what it looks like right now. I'll see if I can't get some recent pics of it now so you guys can see the progress.

Now here's what I'm mainly wrenching on right now:

    1963 Buick Electra 225
    [IMG]

Excuse the punk kid, that's just me. I originally bought the car with the intention of pulling the motor to donate to my '57, but the car was so straight, and so close to being on the road, I decided to get it back on the road. I mean I'm only 16, I need a little near-instant gratification, you know?

Oh, I bought both the cars off the HAMB.

This was my High School ride. This was taken in 1957 in Inglewood in front of my Aunt's house. I will always regret the day I sold that car.
