I am currently in the process of re-wiring my 1963 ford fairlane wagon using an EZ wiring harness. One of the issues i have run into is that of the floor mounted foot switch used to engage/disengage the highbeams. I am having difficulty wiring the switch with the new harness simply because the original harness has no description of each wires designation. any help would be greatly appreciated.

From memory it should be somewhat obvious, I think one is by itself and two are near each other. I have a 50 Merc switch downstairs but Id assume they are the same. Easiest way is assuming you have a voltmeter, do a continuity check with one lead going to what you think is the dimmer power wire, then touch one of the other two. It should beep/zero out what have you. Hit the switch and the other wire should beep or zero. Then you know which is which.

I think the foot switch works a relay on the firewall power comes off the on position of headlight switch hard to explain in words so get a wiring diagram of it for the car

Three terminals, two side by side, one at the top. The top terminal gets the wire from the headlight switch. the other two are high and low beam, makes no difference which one is which
