Hot Rods Hildebrandt ID

    Rummaging around in my friends shop we came across this filter housing. Inside it is stamped with AC71 and with a part/casting number of 5573435. Large unit but we are interested in seeing if anyone can ID this and it's application. Here are the pics:

    I think it fits Pontiac V8s. I had one just like it but it said M/T instead of Hildebrandt, otherwise the same, it came on my flat bottom ski boat.

    Never would have guessed a Pontiac. My friend is building a A coupe with a hopped up 4. He was thinking of using it but it appears overwhelming in size for the engine bay. I will see if he will turn it loose. Doubt he will ever use it.

    its Pontiac . It replaces the oil filter and the adapter also
