    Alright!

The doors on my '56 Cadirac are driving me CRAZY. I've tried to get the gaps perfect and the alignment set, but those damn doors have other ideas.

I'll align them perfectly using the patented DrJ stir stick method & tweak all the bolts down. Open the door &...SAG... there go my perfect gaps. It's close, but I really think bad door gaps look like **** & want it to be perfect.

So... how do you replace hinge pins? Is it a machine shop thing or could a motivated idiot with a big hammer take care of business?

    thanks,

Usually plenty of heat and an air chisel with a pointed end removes them. PITA.

you probably need to install bushings in those to get rid of the egg shaped holes it has,do you know the diameter of the old pins? or we could turn out some new pins and bushings on the lathe over here.BTW i started my front end rebuild on the olds, still in the "cleaning off 50 years of gunk" phase [IMG] -george

    Yorg,

I've got next Monday off. You going to be working on the Olds at all? I could cruise over anytime in the afternoon.

Give me a call or something.
