Dog-- you are ripping it up on both this thread and the drag racing thread. Great stuff!

Darn Wally, you got to make those pictures bigger. I have a 19" flat screen and my old eyes can barely see them. Help out us old guys. Gene

Ive been out with Trickle and his bunch before and to loosly quote Curtis Turner, I think it's time to start a new party. Party all night and race all day. I'v got several Trickle photos I'll try to scan when I get back to were I can. I've got one of the '72-73 Mercury that he wrecked at Daytona back in '74 or '75 and a lot of victory lane stuff frome GA International. Trickle won the first World Crown 300 and they put a cape and crown on him and gave him a ceptor to hold. I think he was probably glad when they handed him the check for $50,000 also.

Goober, I'm having trouble remembering that as a local car. With the style of lettering, it looks like a Wood Brothers entry, and I can remember Hull-Dobbs being on the quarter-mile of some NASCAR entries from time to time. After looking at it again, that doesn't look like "Louisville, Ky" under the name. I was told there were Hull-Dobbs dealerships elsewhere in the south. Maybe someone else can help us.

Veteran West Coast racer Bill Amick landed the Wood Brothers ride for the '62 Daytona 500. The coveted assignment was short-lived as Amick crashed and flipped the car in a practice session. The Wood Brothers didn't have a backup car ready to run, so the formidable team had to forego NASCAR's premier event.
