As long as it took to get the fricken bar aligned to the braces I can see why guys don't run them!

I think the fenders give it a great look.

Putting riv-nuts in the frame was more of a process than Eric let on. The holes for the forward hood latches were obscured by the step boxing plates. A drill guide was made and careful clamping and drilling followed. Other than the dropped headlight bar giving trouble all the fender to frame bolt holes lined up perfectly, after slight massaging for motor mount and steering box bracket clearance.

Bleeding the brakes went pretty well, a little massaging of the floor board for pedal travel and one little drip at the residual pressure valve.

I didn't mention that I gave up on trying to find a space for the lever actuated brake light switch and decided to put an in-line pressure switch.
Does anyone else wish they made the lever switches in left and right swings?

    Possibly
It looked like the wiring would be headed for the clutch pedal.

Well, got the tank out. I rinsed it with water and simple green, then per the red kote instructions I put in a quart of acetone. The tank flange leaks so bad that it soaked a towel I had the tank setting on (to protect the paint) which proceeded to soften and blister the paint.

Since it will need a re spray Might as well replace the tank.

It's a "Tanks" tank. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow.

Decided to switch to something a little more fun. Started making the panel for the gauge insert.

It's only going to hold three gauges, so I need to figure out a place for two more.

Before I had the dash painted I spot welded three tabs to the dash to hold the insert.

The dash is a prefect example of prior planning prevents piss poor performance. Especially when cold ones and a beer****istant are involved.

You don't seem to have put a foot wrong so far - so I imagine you'll find a great solution to this little dilemma too!

Thanks. I'm thinking of making a 2 gauge lower panel and also the key and choke.
I like your door panel design as well. Hmmmmm

Tanks was very fair and helpful even with the tank being 10 years old.
I was even wondering if it was a photography sample as Steve did a fair amount of add work. Hard to tell, but a new one should arrive Thursday. I need to get it sprayed...... Quick

It should make it. I'm running out of time for a shake down cruise with the tank issue.

My work travel schedule has let up, and my garage is 2 blocks from work, so I am trying to pick some 15-30 minute tasks I can get done during lunch.

    Like hanging the front bumper.

And my garage is pretty small so it's tough to get a good shot of the profile. Here's an attempt.

Wednesday night I ran the tank over to Travis to spray, he just sent a text that it will be ready to pick up tomorrow at noon.

Not to much of a set back in the grand scheme of things.

    Here's a pic he sent.

Did you test it for leaks first?

Cool project! You build hotrods on your lunch break? I just stare at the HAMB and scratch myself.

The rear bumper bracket taillight****y really fought me. But I finally got all the body stuff on and rolled it out for a few pics.
Dash, column, hook up headlights and taillights, windshield, seat, set the brakes and it's ready for a drive.

After the pics above the skies opened up and we got a helluva lot of rain. I got back in just in time.

I needed to get the lower gauge panel and headlight panel made so I can get them tig'd during the week.

Key will be on the left, two gauges in the center, and choke on the right. I'll have room for a heater switch between the two gauges.

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1433727040.130448.jpg

I also made a headlight switch panel for the left side of the dash.
