Mike, i had to pick 2 cars out of the McCormick collection and i chose the Pisano 41 Buick and the Westergard 41 Cadillac. So many shows have (and always will) showcase the later years of Customs and i wanted to have a big emphasis on everything - especially the early Westergard , Barris at the Compton shop, Carson Top Shop, and Coachcraft days.

This extravaganza is going to be unbelievable...all these awesome customs under one roof!!:D
I can't imagine having to pick and choose which are coming and which can't out of the lists of cars you've talked about.

  3. Great choices!

Just got the drive in sign in form package and am filling it out! Had the best time at last years show and driving in is the only way to go! I was wondering what or how any show would top the cars gathered for the Merc room at sac auto rama but this could just do it! Cant wait to see you all there !

looking forward, you guys have outdone yourselves!!!! Only thing, I do love the early Ford and Mercury Customs, but where are the '49-'52 Chevrolet Customs, more so the early style? The Larry Ernst '51 would have been nice or? Just wondering maybe you guys have something up your sleeves? Thanks guys.

Thats a valid question. The Larry Ernst Chevy still exists and is owned by Burns Berryman out of Michigan. He's up in age and although has fully restored the car doesn't take it out anymore. If you or anyone else runs in to any other early 50's Chevies i'd be game to put one or two in the show. Was looking for the Dick McArdle Chevy i used to see in northern California almost 20 years ago but it hasn't been seen in recent years. Know which one i'm talking about? The car was a staple at early Paso Robles and Joe Bailon KKOA events. Anyone know the whereabout of this car PLEASE contact me.

  9. "FASI" here on the hamb. owns the recreation of the second version of the Larry Ernst Chevy.
One of those two cars needs to be in this gathering, but I realize that logistically you are running out of time.

Has there ever been a display with so much history i tell ya!? I have read about fantastic gatherings in the past 30 or so years - Merc / Deuce reunions, L.A. Roadster show & exhibit and such, but one would doubt anything like this has ever been accomplished . There's much talk in Britain about this boys. Many are making plans like my mates and i have - to come and see this spectacle - Oh the suspense .

Axle, the Jesus Valencia Chevrolet Custom would be a nice addition for the Modern group of Customs reflecting the past, I believe it's owned by some else though. Good Luck on this endeavor, I no help on this though.

Wow, gonna have to be there !!! Thank you for this custom theme.

Rik, Luke, someone pllleeeaaassseee do a book of the event. I'll definitely get the magazines, but it would be impossible to do this event justice in a mag. Too many cars that deserve large photo's, this would be the must have book for any custom car fan.

Either golden sahara, in any state would be fantastic to see:D

Keith Ashley aka "FASI" will be at the show... but his Chevy will not be there.
When it became evident the real Larry Ernst Chevy would most likely not be at the event we have asked Keith about his Chevy. But even thought Keith would have loved to show it at this event it will not happen.

  16. Is there a "list" of the cars expected to attend?

This is gonna be like going to "Gathering of Mustangs" a couple years ago, to me.
I'll need some headgear to keep my jaw from the floor.

  17. Rik, I was goin to mention this last night but I didnt remember what the reason why the clone could not attend.I would really love to have Keith`s car in the building and im sure most people feel the same.

Thanks to those who have commented on having one of the Larry Ernst cars at this landmark event. Rik and Axle invited me to bring the clone, but it is just not possible at this time. It certainly is my dream to have it amongst the top historic cars coming but I will be there and look forward to meeting as many of the HAMB people as I can. Keith

Strange Motion restored Kurt's Caddy a few years back and I was lucky enough to have helped with the project before it was unveiled at SEMA...this car is KILLER in person..sounds like it will be show not to be missed...

Dave, Gangreen is in my personal Top 3 of the all time best looking contemporary/traditional styled shoeboxes. Glad you will have it at the show!

Man,it looks like we picked a great year to make the trip from upstate NY for the show...we should have 8 or 9 guys from our club going and it sounds like the H.A.M.B meet and greet should be huge...can't wait to see probably the largest collection of customs of all time in one place

Thanks Rik for the list update. Not sure if my '40 LaSalle will be ready so I am registering the '57 Caddy since it has never been to the GNRS. Can't wait to see history.

Did Don Fretwell do the chop on that? I remember Gimelli being around the shop a lot. John would get Don to do work for him. Just a thought.
