    UPDATE:

I felt it necessary to include a Nick Matranga recreation or inspired car So we have a recent great addition to this prestigious display. Danny "Ziggy" O'Neil owns this beautiful 1940 Merc that is obviously inspired by the Matranga Merc. It was on of the 40 Mercs i chose to be displayed at the Merc Gathering during the '09 Sacramento Autorama, and we welcome this car to be displayed amongst the "Heavy Hitters" in the 40's section of our History of the Customs. The car was an award winner at last years West Coast Kustoms event in Santa Maria, and was also chosen as one of the 12 cars to be pictured in WCK 2011 calendar. A few pictures for you to enjoy. Congrats Ziggy !

    FINAL UPDATE:

Well, its finally here guys. This will conclude my posts on this thread as i am now getting ready to head to Pomona in the early a.m. Its been a long road and recently the entire staff has spent late nights finalizing everything.

We have a lot of surprises in store - not only in cars that will debut, but in decorations. The elegance will fill the room like you have walked in to the Pan Pacific in the early 50's.

John Buck, Greg Wall, and I would again like to thank:

    Rik Hoving

    Jeff Neppl

    Luke Karosi

    Dennis

Your assistance is much appreciated. See you all there. Axle

The brushed stainless was factory only on the Broughams, I'm not sure about other years but 57-58 I know for sure.
And painless normally, but when you haven't put a shine on it in a few years, when you finally do those neat little brushed lines make hell for getting poilish out, wax off, and eliminting hand, finger, and rag marks. But now that it's done again it's blinding in the sun- Watson NAILED the color choice on this car- I'm not a huge pink fan, but in the sun or even under good lights this thing radiates.
Again, we are honored to be included, and excited to see all the hard work everyone has put into this come togather for and unforgettable event!

  10. Altough I am hugely dissapointed I am unable to attend this year I have to say to all that have been involved in putting this together Thank You!! It is guys like you with your passion for customs and their history that help keep this segment of the hobby alive and well.

I hope you all get to enjoy the fruits of your labour this weekend!!!

I had contact with Kurt McCormick this morning. His cars are loaded and headed to Pomona! Wait 'til you see these in PERSON - truly beautiful cars, with side views that go on forever ( I believe two are over 18 feet long!)
    See you there.

You mean thats THE Watson's brougham?
as it looks red in your pics.In the old pics it is VERY pink.
I never realized Watson's Brougham had a poilished roof, i know he tried the effect on his 59, so i thought he found out some trick paint for a whole roof effect. I probably have to read T.Davison's book for the 10th time , and maybe i'll read it says the top was polished stanless.
    thanx for replying
