Ok Boys, I revised the prices (down) slightly, and added the price in US Dollars - and my best guess at the cost of Postage. This is a bit new to me, please tell me if I've dropped a clanger. I also added some notes re payment via PayPal. It's the only viable way to accept payment from the USA, but I can't accept some types of payment. Don't forget what I said I'll give hambers a 10% break on the prices and for the time being at least, I'll pay the postage. I'd still appreciate some hittage (I made that up) and candid critique. Thanks. Mart.
it dosen't really work that way. Why not just add a meta tag to your site? Google meta tag and download a bunch of free ones.
Seems to have worked, Fellas, if you google "marts sparks" or "mart's sparks" it comes up top of the list. It used to have lots of references to wal mart sparking rows etc. Thanks for your help. Mart.
most search engines quit using meta tags. they about all piggyback google. ask.com might still use it secondary. not sure
Ok, I hit it but let me give you a bit of advice too. Change your meta description if you want more google hits. That's what google and other search engines use for searches. Here's an example of the site that came up first when I did google for "hotrod". "<!--START METADATA--> <***le>Hot Rods, Street Rods, Rat Rods, Cl***ic Muscle Cars, Hot Rod Girl, Hot Rod Show - Hot Rod Magazine</***le> <meta name="description" content="Hot Rod magazine focuses on hot rods, street rods, rat rods, cl***ic muscle cars, hot rod girl, pro touring, pro street, and custom cars such as the ford mustang, chevrolet corvette, chevrolet camaro, and dodge challenger - HOT ROD Magazine" /> <meta name="autosegments" content="" /> <meta name="autoterms" content="" /> <meta name="keywords" content="hot rods, hot rod, street rods, ford mustang, chevrolet corvette, chevrolet camaro, hotrods, hotrod, dodge challenger, hot rod show, hot rod magazine, rat rods, cl***ic muscle cars, hot rod car, hot rod part, hot rod lincoln, hot rod cars, hot rat rod, hot rod car show, hot rod girl, roadsters, hot rod art, hot rod girls, custom hot rods, hot rod trucks, rat rod, g***ers, pro touring, pro street, pro street cars, hot rod mag, hot rod parts, custom cl***ic cars, old cl***ic cars, cadillac hot rod, hot rods trucks, hot rod pictures, cl***ic old cars, hot rod model, hot rod truck, hot rod kit cars, hot rod babes, hot rod pics, barn rods, barn cars, rusto rods " /> <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOODP"> Your source shows a hodgepodge of descriptive words. You can find that by right clicking on your homepage and then do "view source". Here's your description: "<META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" CONTENT="text/html; ch****t=iso-8859-1"> <META NAME="GENERATOR" CONTENT="Microsoft FrontPage 4.0"> <META NAME="Author" CONTENT="Martin Holden"> <META NAME="Cl***ification" CONTENT="automotive recreation, hotrods"> <META NAME="Description" CONTENT="Photo based site with pics of my T-Bird, 34 coupe and other low buck old timey Hot Rods."> <META NAME="KeyWords" CONTENT="hot rods, thunderbird, drags, low buck, ford coupe, 34 ford, flathead, 21stud, flathead meltdown, rodders round table"> <***LE>Mart's Sparks.</***LE> The only way folks will ever get to your page through google is by typing in a search with one of the words under keywords. Hence "hotrod" would never bring up your site. Most people who build sites don't really understand this and use few words then wonder why they can't be found. Edit it or have the person who does your site edit it and add all descriptive words you can think of that describes your product, singular and plural. good luck
Tore. Please check your PM's. If anyone else has enquired about anything, please pm me as I didn't get Tore's note. Thanks for the hittage and the advice, Fellas. Mart.
