I feel your pain. I'm right west of you ,mills county, and we have a bunch of Meth. heads running the country looking for anything they can sell. I took some Aluminum wheels up to s**** a couple weeks ago and I couldn't believe the people up there.
As long as we have the druggies we are going to have this kind of thieves running around.

The machine shop I work out of, we either tie the Rotty up by the overhead door when it's open or put a mesh gate across it. I saw a couple of people eyeballing a pallet of castings and other material, so all of that gets pulled deeper into the shop. A few months back, I heard a noise from the 3-yard dumpster... there was some filthy guy rummaging and finally comes up with a 4" cube box of aluminum chips. Since then I make sure I pee in the dumpster at least once a week.

I work at a s****yard and the local police come around checking for stolen metals. One of them asked if we ever see any su****ious characters bringing in s**** metal. I told them yes almost everyone that comes in. We video record all transactions and require photo ID.

Sorry for your loss. Parents moved into an ***isted/independent living situstion. Let the house vacant to see how that played out. They loved it. decided to sell the house a year latter with appliances in it and some furniture. The eve of the day we put up a for sale sign they cleaned the place out. I'm sure most of it ended up on craigs list but good luck proving that. So sorry for your loss. at least no one in your family was hurt.yruhot
