The pony express takes longer for mail deliveries up here, so I'm still waiting on my calendar :)
Bet it will be worth the wait.

  5. Been away for a while, cleaning the shop and doing some maintenance between Christmas and new years while the shop is closed, but I now have updates. Engine is near complete (getting a little polish on the T-Bird valve covers) and almost ready to run.

There is a video of priming the oil pump here. Not sure if an instagram post will show a player here.

That's great Tim, waiting to hear it run.
What do you use to prime the oil pump ?

  8. Of course!

  9. Not sure what you want to know. I run it with a 1/2" drill motor and pack it with assembly lube when I bolt it on. That help?

  12. I have a special driver made for it but I have used a 1/4" drive deep 1/4" socket on a long extension before.

  13. I'm gonna bet on a 6 point socket that fits the pump shaft.......

    Whoops, too late. Disregard..

1956 Ford ambulance built by the Weller Brothers of Memphis, TN for a funeral home in Chattanooga, TN. Love the spinning lights on the fenders. I always thought it should have been a conflict of interest for a funeral home to run an ambulance service......

IMHO -- a leetil OVERdone w the front fender lights  musta been difficult to SEE around em o_O:rolleyes:

  17. With that combo of lights on the '56 there, I'm betting even Ray Charles could see this ambulance coming, in the rear view mirror.

You just don't know how OFTEN I've heard *that* :D Thing is tho - -I've had Beulah since 69 & the movie didn't come out till 88 or so -- so Beulah MAY have been the inspiration *for* Ghostbuster's ECTO1 :):D -- Here's what inspired *ME* to NAME her "Beulah" Read this when I was a kid back in Illinois ---

I *WISH* Beulah WAS --- JET powered sometimes -- gittin UP to speed from a stop on the shoulder kin BE frightening w the speed and ignorance of today's traffic and driver's comprehension levels - There's a "MOVE Over" law in place that too many ignore --

bout mid day t-day, I was headed WB on the I-8 just passin Magnolia -- when I noticed, a distance ahead, a large older car w the trunk lid open on the RS of the SB 67 merge TO I-8 WB -- right AT the merge point

got into position, "lit up" and rollin on the I-8 shoulder, to be able to cross over 2 lanes of the transition thru heavy traffic -- to land safely behind what turned out to be a early 90s Lincoln where the fella had been tryin to deal with a LF tread seperation, centrifigual flail - that had whipped his fender somethin fierce afore they got stopped - tire didn't blow or lose pressure -- the tread came loose around most of the circumference of the tire -- he said his lug wrench wouldn't fit the lug nuts -- on closer inspection, ONE of the lug nuts was a lock nut requirin a key socket which they didn't have this is a common complication I encounter often

prior to our timely arrival *He* had attempted to TIE the tread on around the tire with a length of rope intending to drive the car off the freeway @ the next exit [ W Main St ] BOY am i GLAD i got there before he tried THAT
I kin jist visulize the probable concequences of THAT

Anyways, out w my lightweight service jack, my impact, my lock remover kit and WHALLAH!

Spare on and them under way safely

tried to pay me he did and when I wouldn't take it he tried to give it to Patti, who also told him to "Pass it On" and help someone he comes across, in any way that he can -- he vowed to DO that

a leetil excitement from outta the past  !!!!! Wait for it :rolleyes::eek: He nearly didn't make it!

Pickup lost it's LR wheel, which rolled on down the freeway -- bouncin against the CD - driver went after it -- caught UP to it ALmost to the Coronado bridge -- brought it BACK -- in the meantime, I prepared the truck for it's REinstallation, by removing lugnuts from the other wheels, and TIGHTINING the remaining ones - which were loose as well o_O so as to HAVE some for the wheel, should he make it back with it.

I surely DON'T know WTF the driver was doing in the last seconds of his RUN across the freeway!! Almost seemed like he was DARING to BE hit!

    Anyways --

  27. What's the status with the engine replacement ?

  28. It's sitting on the run-in stand waiting for me to get around to it. Just been busy trying to keep customers happy. I'll run it soon and it will be done, I think criminal was going to pick it up on his way to Turlock. Although I may drop it off at his place on my way to GNRS as I will be headed there before he comes up my way. We'll figure something out before spring time.

    12/25/13 Christmas, mid mornin
DID git to feelin good enuf to go out to "play" tday -- if only fer a leetil while -- wife insisted -- cabin fever --
I was amazed at how littl traffic there was anywhere in San Diego -- dog park was well populated tho --
Didn't come across anyone at all in trouble -- untill -- travelin NB on I-5 near Hawthorne I spotted a PT cruiser on the SB RS w it's LF down from a blown tire -- went around @ Washington and came back SB to land behind it -- no one there w it -- LF tire shredded and the donut spare, jack, and lug wrench laid out in front of the vehicle on the shoulder -- donut spare is flat -- I suspicion that's the reason -- don't know how long it's been since the incident began but the engine's cold, vehicle's unlocked, so after changin out the blown tire and airin up the flat donut, I stow all the gear in the rear, leave a card on the door and take my leave haven to be able to have done anuther of my "coyote" tricks as I liketa callem -- after the "trickster" coyote in indian lore -- done a LOT of these over the years
*some* day I'd love to see onea the reactions after

Luv it, great stories, and great "works".
A&E or some network needs to tell your story, and reenact a lot of these good deeds, think about the reaction on their faces when they see your good works on TV.
Your A Modern Day Miracle in the Unfortunate Lives Of Others, keep up the "good woyk"...........
