I was sicker at one time Kiwi Kev . I quick drugs and alcohol 12 yrs ago . Now Im looking for car parts instead of looking for my next fix. Now that I think about it....I AM ****ING SICK! HAHAHAHA !
What's the deal on the Cuda? Shaker hood setup....Hemi car? I sold my 71 340 Cuda about 6 years ago and have been kicking my **** for it ever since! Never had a car that could do doughnuts like that one could! lol. Had the T/A steering setup and factory front and rear sway bars....it surprised me at how well it handled for 71 technology. The only real improvement it had over stock were wider wheels and better tires.
"This, that, and the other." "I'd like this. And that." "Well, youve got to get the other; it's a set!" Ahh, George was a poet! I got so much **** it's spread out at 4 different places. Mike
hoard   [hawrd, hohrd] noun 1. a supply or ac***ulation that is hidden or carefully guarded for preservation, future use, etc. And the problem is?
Big time, I started to buy and flip, I have only figured out the 1st step, I have a 24x24 garage, 10x20 tent, and ba*****t 32x32, all filled. I have cars stored in 3 locations upstate and 3 down here and 9 at my house yeah I got it bad
Without hoarding we ALL would have to drive new cars..... P.S. Thank you past hoarders...your mind was in the right place.....
I think by our very nature all of us on this site are hoarders in some respect or another. comes with the territory of vintage cars.
G'day all, I am known as vetteracer and I may be a hoarder. Just bought a 48 foot reefer trailer to keep my transmission cores in. Also have a smaller trailer full of 350 and 454 engine blocks plus the ***embled ones still in the shop. I am working towards a cure though. S**** was high so we hauled in a load of Chevy engine parts. The load had 46 pairs of small block cylender heads, 12 pairs of bbc heads, at least 12 engine blocks mostly 4 bolts, and most of my cast crankshafts. Now my dad is eying the steel cranks. ms
One more for the count... though I have to say I'm ****** jealous of some of you who've got room to store much more than I do. My tiny garage is getting pretty awkward to move in, what with all the benches and shelves full of stuff "for some day", and the old tools like a lathe and pillar drill that I got but still haven't wired in after a year and half, and the overhead shelf that really needs to be turned into a loft so I can *really* pile **** up there without mercy. Not to mention that I can't say no to any old machine, so even if I do still keep a few things at my parents' place, I've managed to pile stuff so high on my benches that I can barely see some of them. And a**** car parts, tools, and the odd broken house appliance that "I'll get fixed" or "will strip for useful parts", there are old radios, turntables, tape recorders, and a lot of other ***orted mess. Not to mention computer parts from ages ago that I don't really need or want, old sat tv receivers and cable tv decoders... I never really get rid of an old or broken machine. It goes into the garage. The result of all this? I'm growing tired of trying to find the parts that someone asks for, because I can't recall where they've been tossed, and I can barely find the room to work on when I need a bit of bench space. There are parts from all the cars I've broken up over the years in there... some complete apart from the shell, others just what was left that nobody bought and I kept 'cause you never know... Do I have a problem? Yes. I NEED MORE ROOM!! Cheers, Eddie
I'm slowly trying to unhoard. I've got alot of stuff, all car stuff, I can't throw any of it away. I don't have as much as some people on here, but more than most folks I know. I look around my shop and dread the day I have to move, so I'm trying to unload alot of it to lighten the load.
there is a lot of satisfaction in using a hoarded piece that you have had for 20 years and can remember exactly where you found/bought/traded the piece. a place for everything and everything in its place
My problem is when I finally get the need for one of the parts I have, I don't use it,I buy another one this way I have it in case I really need it it's a disease
I use to have 3 of everything ,Motors ,******'s ,miscellanious stuff,Now I have two of everything,,,,Thank god for cl***ifieds,Of course I keep the best stuff and in pairs .I wouldnt call it hoarding ,Just Practical
Guilty, I can't get into my garage without moving stuff first.I am now in the process of selling stuff till I have the room to work on my 32 five window I bought about 30 years ago......
Yea, I do that. I mooved after 30+ years in the same place, took me a month of 400 mile round trips just to transport my stash.
I just sold my home in the city and moved on five acres in the country with a 3000 sq foot home and 3500 sq foot shop three months ago just so i can hoard. I'm only 25 so i figured i better collect as much **** as i can before i knock my ol lady up. and shes on vacation in Hawaii so she doesnt know about the 59a flathead and the 71 suburban i have picked up in the past week while she has been gone.
-------------------------- Actually, close, but you got it backwards - "Hoarding is the cure for marriage"! (And one of the best ones too, btw!) Mart3406 ("Throughout history, behind all great men, who accomplished any great or noteworthy thing....was a woman telling him he was crazy") -------------------------- P.S. "I'm not hoarding this stuff....I'm gonna' build something with it some day...really!" ===========================
Guilty as charged... Though sometimes I wonder if is hoarding, collecting or some form of addiction. My wife tells me I buy "stuff" to get the same satisfaction that others get gambling or drinking. So maybe the real question is how many of us are "addicts"?
