I have read a few times about Hambers helping Hambers, but I never really knew about it till I experienced it first hand. I woke up this morning and drove the '53 out to the Hot Rod Hoe Down (Pictures coming soon) in New Caney Texas hosted by the Hellions. Great show put on by these guys which was an absolute blast!! Finally got a chance to meet with Sean Ornduff and Danny Burroughs of Bruce's Rod Shop at the show as well. We had previously discussed doing some work to the ole gal, and it was nice to shake hands and meet someone face to face (I'm sure we can all agree it's comforting when we give our baby over to someone else after that). Anyways after the show I am cruising home and start to get this really bad sputter in my engine. Pulling off the highway I find myself stranded. Called a flat bed wrecker to come get me, and was going to tow it to my house then later tow it up to Bruce's Rod Shop (2 trips $$$$). Called Sean Ornduff and he was kind enough to meet me (after hours) at the shop and have me drop off the car so I could save some money in towing. I just wanted to give a shout out to him and his wife for taking the time to meet me after hours, when they didn't have to, and help a fellow HAMBER out in a time of frustration. I think we can all agree that nothing is more frustrating than when our sweet baby's leave us stranded. It's part of hotrodding, but great people seem to also go along with it as well. Thanks again guys, and I am proud to be part of this community. obby
Danny has got me out of a bind a few times. Good people. But if I was to re-tell your story, I couldn't refer to my car as "sweet baby"...
