Nope, the Rover engine is based on the little 215 Buick powerplant, which looks completely different to the Holden, which looks like the big 455 Buick.

Any updates or more pics of this killer baremetal Holden?

  3. Not yet, too many other things happening, so it's tucked away in the corner of Chopper shed for a while.

Should be out soon for a photo session.

  7. That holden custom is bad fuckin ass. I love those pictures.

  8. General Motors Holden in Australia recently built a custom car called "Efigy"? and shots of it in deep red have been in many Australain magazines and also large feature of an American auto mag also. Built by major aussie auto manufacturer it is unreal, like an aussie version of Cadzilla. John Katsanis is the builder of the bare metal old holden seen and is a full on custom enthusiast and all round top bloke. Somewhere I have photos of a custom 2-door pillarless FJ Holden coupe that belonged to a bloke called Greg Wilson? -will try to find them and post them up here.

  9. These cars were designed partly in sync with GM in the USA, with similarity to Buicks but scaled down. The first ones were produced in 1948 and referred to as model 48-215?.

  11. I think he might have meant something more along the lines of: "Here Rover, come on Rover, that's a good boy Rover."

Now this is cool, I have had this same idea running around the workshop in the head for a long time, looks like a nice job, this was of course a 4 door wagon originally, looks like the C pillar has been moved forward and big glass on the sides, kind of an FB nomad....... very cool anyone know anymore details ?
