This is probably not the right way to post this. But on the Land Speed site a guy posted that the company he works for was going out of the hole saw making business. And selling out at $2.35 a saw. Bimetal or carbide tipped. I bought some and tried a 1 7/16 and a 3 7/8 carbide tip today and they cut on size and round dry. I love them and the price is great. I tried on a '56 Chevy pickup frame piece (.150 steel and .041 half hard copper. Head gasket material) Love them. But I think all the popular sizes are gone now. If you think you will need hole saws in the future of want to by the manufacturing machinery For reasons unknown to me you have to click the Fine Woodworking banner at the top of the page to get to the carbide tipped saws. http://www.sawbladeexpress.com/ProductListing.aspx?CatId=c99cfe4d-df45-40b8-a8cc-49e370177476

    Thanks Rich,
I filled some gaps in my hole saw collection and stocked up on a couple of sizes that I use regularly.

If you can use them, you should invest. production is going overseas and they are selling the machinery and inventory of remaining US made saws. If you want to try before you buy, drop over and I will poke a hole in something for you.

I bought some to replace my ragged ones of certain sizes and a batch of larger ones that I didn't have.

  8. I ended up with shipping costs literally doubling the total amount... I don't really NEED anything right now so still debating.

If you look at Lenox or comparable quality US made hole saws, they go for 15-30 dollars. And they still want UPS. But if you don't use hole saws why buy them? Also there is the 15% discount mentioned on the home page you may not have noticed. Steve said he thought there might be free shipping over $50. But you would have to ask about that.

Thank you. Ordered a bunch last night.

  11. I didn't say I didn't use them, I said I didn't need them right now. In any case, I removed a couple from the order and shipping dropped to half of what it had been so I'm good.

Thanks for the heads-up Rich! And if you enter the discount code "Winter2017" you get another 15% off on the price. I kinda feel like a thief, but in a good way.
