Can somebody with a Hollander manual look up my car, 1955 Buick Century, and tell me if any other transmissions will hook up to my 322. This model came with an automatic Dynaflow. The one that came with the car was in about 40 pieces, and so far, I've gotten about 20 different opinions about possible alternative transmissions. I think a 56 Dynaflow might work, but not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

According to my Hollanders the 55 and 56 are different. Looks like you are stuck with a 55.

Correct me IF I am wrong but the Buicks of that era were closed drivelines.....where they not?

That means a alternative rear end too.........

Thanks for the help guys. I was afraid that would be the outcome. And yes, the Buicks of that era did have closed drivelines, so If I wanted to run anything other than the correct Dynaflow, I would have to switch out the rearend as well. I have a 55 tranny lined up, but it's in Athens, Georgia, so I was just exploring any other options. Thanks again.
