I would like to plumb my Holley 94 carbs with 5/16" steel line for the fuel. I am not having any luck finding fittings with the proper 1/2-20" straight thread with the SAE 45 degree 1/2-20 Inverted female flare for the 5/16" line. Any of you guys have any ideas on if the fitting even exists and where to get them? Thanks, Bill
I used (per George MacNicholl's book) a Weatherhead 7915 brass fitting from Napa (Weatherhead No. 7915. BRAKE LINE ADAPTER. Male Pipe Thread: 3/8 Dia. Inverted Female: 5/16 Tube.) beveled the tread end (little at a time) until it seated correctly in carb.... some Teflon tape and a year later, 3x2 with no leaks. :0) revrev
You could use a Model A Gas Line Fitting # 0442707/CB it is 1/2x20 for a 1/4" line with a feral. If you can drill out brass, I mean grinding a drill bit so it wont bite and chamffer it to 45 degs. You will have to drill out the carburetor because it is made for 1/4 tubing or your 5/16 will not go in to and have the feral not seat correctly. I just had a thought why don't you make a manifold large enough to supply the fuel into 1/4 lines into the carburetors ?
You can find every fuel fitting and any other fuel system parts you will ever need right here. http://www.vintagespeed.com/
