I would appreciate some help in locating the proper Power Valve for my project. I tried working with Daytona for 2 weeks using both email and telephone and got no help at all apparently they have too much business to help with such basic information and it is not possible (that I can find) to buy parts from their website. Ideally I could find a chart showing the various spec for the various size’s. I need to find a source and some****istance. I had a problem with a non functioning power valve (a flaw in the design, not simply defective) from Speedway a few years ago so would prefer not to deal with them. A source for genuine OEM parts would be best I think. Thanks

Are you familiar with the fact that there is a difference between the early (Holley 94) and late (4BBL) power valves even thought they look the same? The difference is in the transition between the main boy and the treaded part. Many people have been burned by this. Make sure you get the proper series for your carburetor.

As to power valve selection, if it's a stock engine go with what came from the factory. For modified engines, you could do what I did. When I had the 327 in my Corvette rebuilt, I had a few (ahem) things done to the engine. I wasn't happy with the performance during street driving and tracked it down to an improper power valve. I bought a variety of the correct type and kept swapping them until I was satisfied with the performance. During this period, I had a auxiliary vacuum gauge taped to the hood so I could keep track of what was going on.

That is definitely the way to go about it but I’m trying to avoid buying multiple valves at $10 each but I may have to go that route. Thanks, Don

This whole difference between the Holley 94 style and later 4 barrel carburetors bit me back when I was messing with some on my y-block. The incorrect style was even included in my rebuild kits for the 94's... Anyway, wasn't it vintage speed that had good parts? Not sure I am remembering that right and sure there are others as well.

I FINALLY after 2 weeks heard from Daytona and they have recommended one of their PV’s so I’ll start with that (now all I have to do is get them on the phone to order it they don’t sell online).

You can correct the issue with a thin file and some patience.

I do this when I cannot find the correct ones for multi carb applications.

    Otherwise I get mine here:

I’d bet the cost to send 1-3 Power Valves would be the same as one. 20 extra $$ and have a range of them for use, might not be a bad idea.
Not a lot of ten dollar parts when working on old stuff;)
