I have been playing with the Holley 94's a lot. I am getting the good rebuild kits that come with the black, blue and leather accelerator pumps. The black one last only 3-4 month's. The blue one last 5-7 month's and i have not tried the leather one yet. Just wanted to know what plunger you guys are using and if it last. Thanks, Randy

I use the leather...I have gotten a whole summer out of them and would go longer if I wanted......I have even had to sleeve the bores on a couple of my carbs that they ride in......until I was happy with their performance......I am inside my carbs all the time looking for gains........getting ready to go thru them again...have a few more ideas.....Goodluck ,Littleman....running multi carbs is a love hate relationship !

I've never had trouble with leather, and I don't think any I've replaced during rebuilds really needed replacement. They really should last for years. Soak'em in oil to get them soft.
I think anything plastic is dodgy right now because there are so many gas formulae out there, and all are continually changing. You cannot predict what the next fillup might bring. Cow parts are usually pretty durable and are hard to dissolve...

The leather pumps are more expensive, but they last virtually forever.

Neopreme became the standard because the cost is like 5 percent of the cost of leather, and it won't last, thereby generating more kit sales.

I have occaison to call on the lab-rats at one of the major refineries out here. They tell me they're putting out 17 different recipes of fuel to meet various compliances - it's a crapshoot as to what might end up in your tank. The black and blue pumps will both eventually turn into gummybears. A little Neatsfoot oil on the leathers will allow you store the carbs if you're not going to use them for a while.

Enough pussy-footin' bull! Let's get to the ISSUES; blue pump booties are METROSEXUAL. Got it??
It's just like jackets. If it's royal blue, doesn't matter if it's leather. You're going to be the entertainment at the next meeting.

    Words of wisdom....

(Note to self. Get rid of royal blue leather jacket before the next meeting)
