I bought a pair of holley 94s that have an extra long throttle shaft. I think it is design to use "hot rod linkage" Anyone know what type of linkage needs these long shafts? Whoever rebuilt these also ground off the ball on the other side of the carb so you dont have a throttle hookup.

  2. Hi Burt,

Any of the Offy 94/97 linkages should work as long as they do not have the ball end type attachment. This example below is from Speedway and is thier triple linkage although they are available in dual (progressing and straight).

When I bought a rebuilt one back in about 1972, the only one that they had in stock had the longer shaft. I was told it was for a hand throttle setup in larger trucks. It worked out great as I ended up adapting it to another vehicle after I parted with the rest of the truck. Also the original choke cable bracket on mine had a provision for one on each side, which I believe was part of the hand throttle provision. The carb that was on it was not original, I had an 8RT and the casting was something else.
