How the hell are you guys keeping these things from vibrating and turning out? I took the shoebox for a drive today and smelled nothing but gas. I turned the screws in to lean it out and they both went in a full turn. When I initially set them they were out just over one full turn.

EDIT...I found my old screws, stretched the springs AND added a washer to each and the still turn super easy. Maybe my carb base is just worn

I contacted Vintage Speed to see if he had any. Where else would be a good place to find them? I took a zip tie around both of them and tightened it down snug but I'm not sure if that'll work. I was afraid to go too tight and bend them inward towards each other

Might be able to find some in your hardware store. Take yours in for comparison. You did have springs? Haven’t heard of them not working.

Yeah I used the new springs that came with the Vintage Speed rebuild kit. As a matter of fact I wonder if I don't have my old springs still maybe I can toss those Back on

Can you stretch the springs a little longer so when you compress them they'll have a little more tension?

Maybe add a washer to compress the springs a little more.

It definitely wouldn't hurt to try

I'm not sure if there's enough space on the carb base to put washers in there but it's definitely worth looking into

Maybe try to sand the ends of the springs with some course grit paper. That might make them “grab” better and stop the mixture screw from turning.

It's funny you say that. I Googled if loc***e was fuel resistant about an hour ago and read that the blue IS so I'll be picking some up tomorrow

Just a little bit. And let it sit dry for a while.
