Hi guys could use some help on my 3 deuce setup on a 283. all 3 carbs have been rebuilt. the center is fine no issues the rear is also fine. my problem lies with the front carb it seems fine when running opens , gets fuel closes. my problem is that it leaks gas into throttle body after shut down. not from jets but drips out of the tubes that run vertically in the carb. I pulled carb flipped it upside down and tapped it and that seemed to stop the problem . but after 3 or 4 starts the problem is back it dumps so much fuel that it runs out the sides of the carb and puddles on top of the throttle plates. any ideas
    thanks

  2. Needle is hanging up in the seat. Common problem, most 94"s have small dents on the tops and side from people tapping them to free up the needle. Make sure when the float is moved up and down that it does not push the needle sideways, making it jamb. Don't turn the top over to check this. BTW.

I have had the same problem to find the power valve gasket to be leaking which will give the appearance of overflowing.

  4. A power valve gasket leak will show as fuel coming out the throttle shafts, his leak is from the venturi boosters, meaning his float bowl level is too high. the cardboard power valve gaskets are actually two pieces glued together and will leak with the "new" gasoline. Use the nylon ones..

First, give carb models, generally a short string like 59 or 8ba on left of bowl. There are a LOT of real 94's, and alsso a lot of later derivatives of the 94 that use completely different float settings. 94 is pretty close to useless as an identifier!

(an edit...while you are in there...many new kits use rubber/viton tipped float needles. I have found that some of these stick right on the bench. Be sure the damn things move freely before bothering to set!)

  7. In an old Ford bulliten that Bruce shared a while ago, it said to "polish" the float tang to remove any scratches/burrs that could prevent the needle from closing. Mine were sticking open so I did this with 2000 grit and it worked great. Just a thought.......
