It's really such a shame that the builder of this car did not have the good sense to contact those who do not like it. They could have told him what he should build and how to do it. Although, I strongly suspect that some of those who slam this car probably can't change a tire without screwing up. So, from now on, anybody who want to build something very unique, make sure you contact all those who expressed a negative opinion and ask THEM what YOU should build. Otherwise, your car is gonna be crap!! JEESH!!
I didn't read all of the comments, but I like it. I'd rather see it with real paint on it, and I'm not fond of the continental kit, but mostly I like it. I'd like to see a lot more stuff like this. Seems like "custom" has turned into a car with some new wheels and a few emblems shaved, I like the wilder stuff.
i cant believe we have made it 7 pages with out the pics being reposted in quotes a million times lol p.s. i kinda like it but agree it needs some changes and paint
Better looking than anything the Citroen factory kicked out! Very cool in a wierd, twisted sort of way.
You know what? It's not another rehash of a Westergard or Hirohata Merc. I like it just for the sole reason that it is different, looks relatively well executed, and it is D-I-F-F-E-R-N-T, which excuse me, I thought customs ought to be. Barris sure made a bunch of ugly ones, too.
Wow cant believe the amount of work that took. Cartoonish just wish it wasn't flat black think that would help.
One thing for sure...it's not a "mild" custom! Second thing...it sure generated posts and comments! Look!...up in the sky! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No... it's SUPERCAR! Supercaaaaaarrrr...SPLASH!!!...Supercaaaaarrrr... WHOOSH!!! LOL! I'm not being disrespectful, I'm just tryin' to be funny. I don't ever see any reason for being hypercritical of someone's creation. Some don't care for it, or like a feature or two, but saying that it should be crushed is just bein' mean. I think it's neat. It's wild. I'ts a freakin' full-custom aircraft carrier! LOL!
Come on Squab...thats not a Continental kit...didn't you ever watch "The Jetsons" as a kid??? Thats a "Spacely Space Sprocket"!
I like it,you have to give the guy credit on building that out of a Citroen.Id like to shake the guys hand, thats a lot of good work, not all to my taste but still good work...................YG
I can't quit coming back and looking at this car. I like it more than a little, just short of loving it. This guy did a hell of a good job, not just, "He did a good job for it being a French car." Bring his ass over here and turn him loose, I'd like to see what he'd do here with better building blocks.
Once I had picked my jaw up and looked again there is one sick mind to go from stock Citreon and end up there. As has been said. Cars are fun.....He is having a blast
yeah, the guys in Englad have to deal with RUST, and if your frame is to thin, it gets taken off the road, It is hard to find ANY good old tin to do ant thing with, so a lot of guys there have to make do with what they can find, Have any of you here in the US seen a 57 English Ford Capri????? Realy cool car, and very rare.......Roach.
I dig the shit outta it. I'm so weary of seeing chopped mercs with 53 Buick sidetrim or badly chopped shubox sedans with 55 Pontiac trim. I'd have done the front end a little different but the rest flows pretty good, IMHO. .............and notice it has no fuzzy dice, no fake appletons or ill fitting fender skirts with wide whitewall tires. That in itself gets points from me. I say bring on these interpretations of what a custom should look like. It gets a thumbs-up from me. .............and I can envision an entire TV series concieved around this car. Or at least a movie.
Lynch me.....I'd drive the shit out of it. I can't even begin to imagine the amount of work that went into it.
um...apparently not, 'cause it's "phonics" That car is flat out bitchin'...anyone who says otherwise should go back to cruisin' their Yugo...
I like it, except for the "Simpson's" style teeth in the grill......and a few other things. Some people just have to be tough and mean on the internet, (me too sometimes), but who couldn't at least appreciate the vision and work involved in this car......people with no vision or apptitude I guess.
That thing is awful, thankfully its on a whole other continent so I'll never have to see it in person. I'm not at all surprised that Nads likes it, it would look right at home in Florida.
Very creative... wild custom. The guy who built is sure was not afraid what other people where going to say about it. It sure reminds me of some wild custom built in the late 50's early 60's... Perhaps a nice gloss paint job... then it would be great. My friend Paul Kelly found some more photos of it online...
Wow Rick! It sure rules! and it seems to be pretty small at that too. I bet the wipers are like this because the weather is crap over there! I'd love to c sum build pics, maybe Koppa K got some or knows who does, can you contact him?
Andy did built a custom based on the same/similar Citroën in the early 80's, more here. But I do like the satin black one way better than the one Andy built. Here are some photos of the Andy Saunders car I took as a 15 year old boyin 1983...
THUMBS UP!!! whatever style, its a lot of craftmanship, and he have followed a vision & and done it! Lines are flowing quite good, even if my own mind, would have changed some parts of it. The owner has making a full custom out of a standard "bad frenchie", and thats what customs are about!
WOW! I kinda really sort of love it. I absolutely love wild 50's and 60's customs and am glad someone has the balls to build stuff like this nowadays. To all that dislike I hope it's a huge kick in the balls to show what you can do. This car would seriously scare me off the road and leave me in shock especially if it was traveling at high rate of speed. I would think I just drove though a time and space wormhole. Imagine seeing a 50's concept car pass you by. This car is the closest thing to it. I'm not saying I love all the parts but I definetly love the parts as a whole.
