  3. Consider this....The Batmobile was made for a TV show, and it sold for..millions! There's nothing to say the AG Coupe wouldn't bring HUGE money, or the ZZ Top Coupe.

Yea I kinda thought that through for awhile after I posted it. Definitely not a trendsetter. He is super talented though and I think it'd be awesome to own one of his creations. Maybe long in the future someone else will look back at the "Merc-eater" Packard he built and call it holy grail material. Different strokes...

The Holy Grail , for me is ,...The Ford 51 unfinished in my garage...custom and Hot Rod is the 29 Ford Roadster never been built, still waiting...

  9. He has built some cool rides, like the bubble-top T Bird, but most of his builds are goofy. He is very talented and can do anything, but many times he builds what some customer wants. Seems like he never says NO.

  10. I would think the Beatnik Bandit, might be the next Holy Grail, if it ever goes up for sale. And, i'm sure Beau Bachman would be the one to buy it also, for his Roth collection.

  11. Come on dude.....Wake up. We're talking about the Holy Grail here, ICONs.

  13. California Kid could bring some serious money. Might be a toss-up between that and the ZZ Top Eliminator.

    Hello,

When my brother and I were just starting our magazine buying spree, building hot rod models, the coverage of car show customs had some pretty outstanding builds. One stood out as it was something we did not see anywhere.

It was a roadster pickup which we liked, but one that was so customized that it was pretty much out of anyone’s reach. It did not look like any other RPU, but everyone could see the bones of the original RPU.

The Barris Ala Kart was one of a kind. There has not been built, a custom truck like this one, ever since. It had so many things of the era, but the things just looked like it was especially made for this custom truck.

Who in the world builds White RPU trucks? A pearl white paint color, at that. But the color is one that many companies have tried to make into their own factory color scheme. For some reason my wife has always like this Pearl Paint and for her daily driver, station wagon, it was called “Mineral White Metallic Pearl.”

It was her first and only Pearl White Paint daily driver. It works well, as White is one color that stays cleaner longer than other colors and keeps the constant maintenance for us old folks minimal.

( and wasn’t that made for music videos ? ):D

  20. Question wasn't weather it belonged on the HAMB. It was, "What would be the Hotrod Holy Grail?" Also, the car was around before the videos....It's too StreetRoddy, for my taste.

  21. This one has already changed hands twice, second time for alot LESS money. So, I don't think it's the Holy Grail. It would have to be something that has been held onto and not offered to the public, for sale. Meaning....very hard to get your hands on. Beatnik Bandit might be considered out of reach.

  22. The Emperor , The Matador, and the little Deuce Coupe are my choice for iconic custom rods.

The Tommy Ivo T, the Dick Scritchfield Deuce roaster, the 22Jr Tony Nancy 29 roadster, and the Chrisman Brothers Coupe are the iconic hot rods for me. My Holy Grails.

Hell if i just had the money i spent on Models of the ala kart i spent in my youth i would be close to having enough cash. to buy it!!!I realized the cars that i like most were all model cars? orange crate, Ala Kart, 57 chevys. I see a pattern. I love 32 sedans, i bought a bunch of the 2 car sets LOL.I used the term "HOLY GRAIL on the merc, I guess maybe because it was "lost" to most of us. Only a few well connected folks knew of its existence. Could there be a pre 48 hot rod that maybe fits that category also? You know, one that we all think is gone forever and then one day pops up and WHERE THE HELL DID THAT COME FROM.

Hot rods.... old car, hot mill, beat the shit out of the other guy. One guy I knew well spent his entire career doing just that. He was not famous, and never had much money, but he was a genius at making hot rods go fast. This old bugger may not have been the prettiest hot rod around, but it was one of the fastest. This guy decided he'd build a "hot rod" that could compete will all the fancy shit the world had to offer, and he did just that !! early el caballo.jpg

  28. Yeah you’re right but to me it is the Holy Grail.
I’ll never get my hands on it.

  29. I agree. That's what i keep saying. A car that's been unavailable for many years, maybe lost or just hidden away. Holy Grail, by definition, means lost or hidden from sight. Has nothing to do with, "My favorite car", or "I always liked.....". It's about the one anyone would love to own....
