I think right now I will try to un-channel it and I am leaning toward chopping it but maybe not a radical chop. I want to build a very period correct car for like a late 40's era type thing. Time to start collecting parts.

He's a great guy and he also has a casting business and I've bought lots of his products.

I sold my 59 caddy and bought a 60 caddy and a 56 caddy and now I need to sell another caddy........or two....ha

Yea I am sure Dusty Harmeier will be doing alot of the fab. I don't really want to trust my hack talent to this thing for sure. I shouldn't do metal work on anything better than a go cart probably. Plus I never have as much time as is required to do something of this magnitude. I will be helping all I can though. Dusty is a very talented builder and I'll keep everybody up to date on this build while its going.

Congradulations...Believe it or not, I had that car bought when it first showed up on craigslist last week....for alot less money than on evilbay. The original seller was a super cool guy, but for some reason I could never get a pic of the p***. side of the car...started getting a bad feeling about it. Since I have a 3 window already (and very thankfull to have it), am in the middle of building a garage, and the car was 24 hours away from me I decided to p***. The next evening it was already being flipped on *bay! I knew instantly I had made a mistake, but you can't buy them all...Heres another pic!!

What craigslist was it on? Wish I'd seen that. Is that a photoshopped pic or was the grill and hood with it? How much was it on CL for? Wait don't tell me I'll get sick possibly......ha

    Mike...
It was on the Elpaso craigslist. I saw it last Wednesday, was the first to call the guy at 8:00 in the morning, and made the deal...contingent on seeing pics of the car. That pic was the only good one I got, and the original owner's wife said she'd had it on her camera for awhile. I got a couple of other cell phone pics later in the day, but they were all very fuzzy. The one pic that I got of the p***. side was looking through the open door to the inner driver's door. In that Pic it looked like the B pillar area of the car was all mangled up. I never got any pics of the rear of the car. It's hard for me to make that big of a purchase without actually seeing it in person...but if I had gotten pics like those posted on *bay I would have bought the car. When I saw the pics, I knew I had made the wrong call...but a man has to trust his gut. Yes, the grill & hood were with it, but it looked like the shell was Fibergl***. I think the car was well worth what the buy it now was on *bay. That being said...Do you really want me to post the original seller's price?

Welcome to the 3 window family....

I already looked at the craigslist add and now I don't feel as good but I still feel good.
I'm thinking flathead for this car with some Eddie Meyers heads and intake. What do you guys think? I kind of want a late 40's style car. Full hood and sides?
Maybe I should just have a HAMB virtual 3W build and we could all vote on what I put on and in this thing. That might be fun. Thoughts?.......
Anybody know anything about this car or any history?

If you did a car like 3wlarry's like you said but had a hot little Flathead in there with a simple and period looking interior it would be the coolest coupe ever. Full Hood and sides are the way to go!!!!

OK I scooped up a '50 8BA flatty with a side shift 3 speed 40 ford wheels and a banjo rear last night from Daddyo54. I may or may not use the side shift 3 speed. the banjo will go to Wilson welding to get a quick change mod unless I can find a reasonable original quick change. I've got the Eddie Meyers Heads and now I need a manifold to match. This is going to be fun. Anybody want to buy some cars????? I'm gonna need some cash.......

So how is your progress? I'm not sure but I could swear this car is on eBay right now. Did you decide to sell and go in a different direction?

This was kinda my first thought too. But really it's his car to do with what he wants. I'm sure he has his reasons.

I guess when he got it home ...

    BUYERS REMORSE set in
    :D

It would take a very dedicated owner with either fairly DEEP pockets ...
or be very talented to bring the old 3W back to a former glory.

If I did not alrady have a 32 3W ... I might would be interested in it.

I do not have deep pockets and I do not claim to be all talented ... BUT ... I am real persistant :D

I agree. I don't think I could tackle this project either. It would be cool if the owner would post up something and let us know what was going on.

That looks like the car that was selling at the Roundup. Seller told me it was sold for $15,000.

I made my attempt to give it a shot, but the evil that is eBay knocked me out. It's very rough, but it's still a Henry Ford '32 3-window...
