Hot Rods Holy Crap..... I joined the Deuce club!!

  1. If anyone's wondering, the column is the original column out of my '64 GTO (the fuzzy dice never made it into Canada). When I did the rebuild I converted the car from a auto column shift to a manual floor shift so it became available. It was a perfect fit. No cutting required.

  2. The car is now running........... unfortunately I likely won't be able to take it for a drive until the spring. Damn tilted earth!

I love the stance of the car. What a difference.

That's looking awesome! Hurry up for spring eh? Lol. It looks like you have a Zips water pump riser on the engine....how did you get the oil fill tube to clear the Zips riser?

  5. I'll be there for Thanksgiving. Wednesday through Monday. Maybe we can get together.

Well he probably took some time to actually work on his car and made it work... ha ha just kidding DD! Yes I would like to know as well seeing as I will have the same challenge. Car looks great, the wheels fill the wells perfectly

  7. The car is more or less done. I have some interior to put back in it and a few minor other things to do.

Looking good. How did you fit the oil filler neck on the manifold with the Zips riser?

  9. The shop mitred the neck to get it to clear the Zips adapter and TIG'd it up.

Just to be clear, I didn't have the time or help to do the frame swap. I did the disassembly of the car and then Kustom King in Spruce Grove, Alberta (great shop that does some amazing builds) painted the frame and all the incidentals, did the body mount (they had all the templates for converting the frame from a highboy to full fendered as well) and got the car running/driving. Now I need to finish what I started.......

  10. Did you achieve your goal for vacuum with the 350hp cam? I'm trying to select a better cam for my 290hp, 350 crate engine. Thanks, Phil

  11. I haven't checked the vacuum. The Fuel Injection unit is still in Northern California being worked on. I will definitely check it though. I've got an old vacuum gauge that should do the trick.

I put a .040 over 350 together some years back and it had a Comp Cams "268" in it.
Don't recall the part number, it was a real nice running engine, idled and sounded great.

  13. Was out in the shop today replacing the passenger side glass in the '37....... then figured while I was out there I might as well throw the trim rings on........ I had bought them probably 6 months ago.
Now just need to pick the caps..... smooth...... Ford script........ V8........ any opinions or suggestions?

  15. Just looked at photos. That's a good looking cap.
Would they fit on these Wheel Vntiques rims?

Can you run a 1932 license plate?

  19. Roadsir. Thanks.

Larry: I'm actually leaning towards the 46 cap which WV carries but I have no clue what series of wheel I have?
    How's the RPU coming along?

  20. I'm sure those wheels with 4 nubs take the stock caps. The ones with 3 nubs for the caps take the special cap. I have been wrong, but I think I'm right on this.

  21. It's amazing what stance and wheel combination will do. Excellent!!!!!!!!!!

  22. Unfortunately I don't think so. We're a one plate province and vintage plates are government issued. It would be nice if we could register a correct year plate if we had both of them in our possession..... but that likely isn't happening.

I'm pretty sure that those are 12 series smoothies like I have presently.
The RPU is coming along, I'm almost ready to have the body and frame blasted so I can move on to body and paint.
The part's I'm having chromed are almost ready to ship.

I don't believe that you are.
Seems to me that I have heard otherwise.
A call to WV might be in order.

  24. Just catching up on this thread! You have it looking very nice. Great work!

  25. Found the invoice for the wheels in all the receipts Steve had sent me. They're actually 20 Series Solid wheels. Now to pick caps. I'm leaning towards the '40 Standard or the '46......... but likely will leave it to the boss....... this is kinda like picking jewelry. lol

When I picked up my '32 5W off my uncle's farm in Airdrie it came with a matching set of non-issued '32 Alberta plates, still in the envelope. I was thinking of keeping them but if really interested send me a PM.

Good to know what wheels you have to be able to order the right caps.
You can order what suits your own taste of course but I'm partial to the 42s or the beehive 41s like I have. :)
