Today started off as the day I set the motor in my frame to check the spring compression. Ended up going to get the body and test fit it. It is not welded up yet I have to get a 12-71 intake so I can check firewall clearance with blower on. The rear wheel will sit in approx 4" into the body. All will be tight but will be worth it. This is only a test fit. There is alot to be done yet but I am starting to see the finished project. Here are some pics.
That thing is gonna be AWESOME! And a 12-71? who you going up against, Kenny Bernstein? What kinda body is that? Looks like a Bantam but too large!
It is a 33 ply 4 dr that I stumbled across while looking for a 32 sedan. This guys wife wanted it gone. He cut it down and narrowed the back looks like he did it with a torch and stick welder. It was welded to a corrola floor pan and that was welded to the ply front rails. needless to say that was done away with. I made hidden hinges , got the twist out of the body and I am waiting for the frame to be completed for final metalwork. I will post more about that as I go. The 12-71 was picked up at a g-sale for $200. how can you say no to that. I will admit the project has gotten carried away. But look at the car it cries out for too much. Not every body reconizes it as a bantam but some notice the simalarities.
