There was a nicer set on there not too long ago. Bright red with the raised areas chromed. I wish I'd seen what they went for, but it was way up there. Awesome art deco.

Check these out. They went for $610.00. Lenses and rings only, no buckets, and in poor condition! I have about that much in the last two '53 Chevy/GMC pickups that I bought!

Here you go, they sold for $2,148.

Although they are in a lot better shape than the ones currently up for auction.

The same guy that sold the red headlights (8dearborns), sold the '39 Lincoln tail light lenses and rings. Somebody has been hoarding some GOOD junk!

The sad part is that when a person pays that much for a rare part, they may not even use it for fear of damaging it. They'll just hang it on the wall and say "Look what I've got!" Then sell it later for a profit. Oh well.

I bought a pair of big honking 29 Buick lights at a swap meet last year for $40. And in my opinion they're $2000 better looking then those things.

That ebay seller, 8dearborns, is the same dude that paid $3500 for the two divco milk truck wheels a while back, to go on a restoration he is doing.

Electrolines are, IMO, the prettiest headlights ever made.

They came as standard equipment on American LeFrance fire trucks.

    Remember Clark's 32, it had a set.

I think they are kind of ugly. That's why the set I had went to auction and finaced a lot of my car. As an aside, any set of Guide 682's I've ever owned have been given or traded to friends who really like them - because I think they're kind of ugly too.

  23. I have a pair of these lites bought them at thr IOLA swap 2 years ago for $15 the guy thought they were from a 40's dodge p/u .. I thought they matched my finned engine goodies. I like them a little better now.

i picked up a set years ago at the last Watsonville swap meet, the guy wanted 20 and i offered him 15 , they're the coolest lights even if they were only worth the 15 that i paid years ago.

Guess what I just bought from Speedway for the aforementioned $40.00, and that includes shipping. Then, in my pile of junk, I found an old truck side mirror made of thin shiny stainless steel, with grooves already stamped in the metal. Hmmmm

I will do a report on the conversion process when I get done with the mod.

It may not matter to some of you, but I believe (as 2-TONED also mentioned) that they are noticably bigger than '38 Ford tail lights.

When the difference in pice is $570.00, no, it doesn't matter. I went to Harbor Freight Sunday and got a bead roller on sale for $99.00. Using the thin stainless sheetmetal from the old truck side mirror, the initial trial run came out well. Progress report later. :D
