Glad You finally got it Looks like a nice car. I know you have been after it for quiet some time. Your plan sounds good, but 6'' is pretty heavy. Nothing wrong with that, just as long as you know that I did a 5" on mine. I'm glad it inspired you, even though not on the road yet. Here is a pic for anyone curious.

Now that is what I call a great "B" day gift! Do what you want and enjoy it, me I like the full fender look but that's what so great about this hobby is everyone can do what the hell they want to do and then change it when their done. That Mc Donald coke machine is real nice, was it restored or original?

as far as i can tell the coke machine is original.

i bought it from the director Gus Vanzant, he'd had it sitting around for a really long time in one of his offices/workshops.

 

what a find!!!..if your not gonna put a v-8 in it why take off the fenders? ..just leave it all original it will be worth more in the future..don't take this the wrong way..but if i found something like that a coupe..with fenders..driving as is..wow im just jealous i guess..but taking off the fenders and chopping it does not make it a hot rod to me..just my opinion..and once again..what a great find!!

it is nice, but i wanted a good clean start to build off of, and i know what i want it to come out like in the end.

i have so many questions about upgrading the carb, exhaust, possibly ignition, etc. i just want it to be as reliable as possible and be able to keep up with the guys when we cruise somewhere....

time to do some research.

anyone know of a good place to start?

yeah 6 may be too much. i was basing that off what i remembered about hotrod-40's coupe, which i thought was 6. i didn't realize until he said so that it was only 5. i love the proportion his car has, i'll probably do 5.

i'm getting all my ducks in a row as we speak for chopping it. it should be in the next couple weeks!

 

oh, and probably coke in the coke machine... i've got a kegerator for the beer.
