If I wasn’t already in the middle of a 40 coupe, that one would be living at my house. Hell of a neat car. -Abone.
I saw this pop up a while back,, great car with racing history, and Rod Rider waterslide decal,,,, If only,,,,,,
Wow. A lot to work with there. Yes could be made streetable with out removing its history. Wish I was a rich man.
I saw it this morning. Then the thought process went to... Marriage or awesome ex race car? Marriage or awesome ex race car? Would she really divorce me? She probably wouldn't, but I already have a shop full of stuff to contend with. It would make someone an awfully killer ride, and I'm sure they will be glad you noticed it
Wow! What a ride. I hope whoever gets it understands the significance of what they have. If it were mine I would do only the bare minimum to make it streetable and drive the wheels off of it.
Seems like an awesome value. Race history, cool car to begin with, great parts, good color on it...for $23? Shoot. Someone's gonna get a helluva a car!
That is just cool. Price is honest too from what I see. That lacquer paint didn't stay that nice sitting out in the Arizona sun, that car has always been tucked away inside.
I like the decals on the window!!! Sorry but I love old racing decals and if only they could talk what a story they could tell us. Jimbo
Yeah, it was only 25 years old when he got it. Probably never had rust. May have never been hit. Wonder how many owners and paint jobs prior to 1965? I agree with jroberts. Get it running and drive it everywhere, including to work.
Damn it. Its way too rich for my blood but I got everything needed in my garage as we speak to put it back together and make one helluva street brawler out of it, including a B&M hydro which is what it used when it was in race trim or finish up the 4 gear, either way. One of my visions as of late is '39 Deluxe or '40 Ford with my chet smith mill just for street and light track duty. Here someone has it built and just needs finishin' up, and its got a pedigree to boot.
Ad says there's pictures of the car in Jan. '74 Streetrodder. Does anyone have that magazine? Possibly post the pictures you find? Neat car, with a lot of cool traditional Oldsmobile Hot Rod goodies. A solid '40 sitting inside in a dry climate environment...everybody's gotta be drooling over this like I am.
