The latch on my 55 has the spring broke. I don't see the spring available from suppliers. Has anyone dealt with this previously. Finally beginning to look like a car again.

Lookin' good! It's been some time ago, but I had the same issue on my '53. Finally found a suitable spring at a hardware store. A well run Ace Hardware is prolly your best bet, or a Lowes.

Wow..........That's gonna be a gorgeous ride.
I'm leaving in a short time for Chickasha...got my fingers crossed on the rain for tomorrow. Don't need anything but a roadtrip, haha. Saturday I'll be out in the '57 to a car show in Canadien, tx.
I lucked out on the hood catch...found a nos on ebay.

I took Tomdob 's advice and went to Ace. Found a spring I think I can make work. Could not find one in Carpenters catalog.

eBay is also a good source for things like that. But nothing beats a new part.
