hood question

does anyone kno if a hood off a 53 merc would fit a 54 ford? i just like how the merc hood looks a lot more - borrego

 

Sorry,it is several inches longer.I ran into a similar deal,I have an extra inner fender panel from a '54 Ford a Merc guy wanted it was too short.The hood hinges do interchange.

The wheelbase of a Mercury is 2 1/2 (maybe 3) inches longer than a Ford ! The difference is mostly in the front sheet metal ! There is also a little design difference in the front edge of the hood ! A Good Bodyman can make anything fit !
