Looks like one of the big Ford truck scoops.

That's a 1956 ONLY Ford Big Job truck scoop. All die cast instead of stamped steel with a die cast face like the 57-up style. I had one once, very desirable piece for the mid 50's Ford truck guys.

  8. Yep...I have one on the hood for my '40. If I ever get a chance to put it on. 1956 Ford Big Job trucks. It's a one year only scoop. Had a pretty neat air cleaner to go with it. Will fit '53-'56 Ford trucks. And fits my '40 hood good too.
*Guess I'm a little late to the party*
    Just read the last post.

  9. I believe it would be easy enough to fab some aluminum or steel thinnish plate to box in the bottom and have yourself a "correct" looking carb scoop for a hoodless rod.

But where would the filter go?

  11. Flat foam or other media clipped in behind the front grill. :)
