I keep all my toys, including my '29 Ford Model A coupe in a heated garage during the cold weather months and keep my batteries in their normal positions in the cars. Since Model A's are positive ground, am I correct in placing the 6-voly battery tender's red (positive) clamp on the ground portion of the battery? Thanks in advance for your help.

  2. I have several 6 volt tractors and my 1950 Chevrolet 3100 is six volt. I use battery tenders on everything on our farm. Connect the red clamp to the positive terminal on the battery and black clamp to the negative terminal on the battery. Our old Farmalls are positive ground as well and I’ve been doing it this way for ten plus years with no problems.

Yes, you are correct. + to + and - to -. The polarity of the ground is of no consequence.
