Hooking up a tach...

Really dumb question. My VDO tach's instructions are terrible, they just say to hook the wire up to the ignition signal. The only other time I've installed a tach was on an HEI, with the little port on it for the tach.

Do I use the negative or positive side of the coil as my ignition signal?

 

The side going to the distributor, or the NEG> side.
