Hey fellas... Everything looks freaking awesome this week, as always. This show seems different somewhat though, not sure why. Great work all around!

I stumbled on this old sketch... It's a '39 Ford Pickup with '36 Ford car sheetmetal. I think sometimes my drawings look better when they're half-done!

I've been working on another, better view of this rod that I'll share down the road.

The poster I designed for our latest film featuring my 48 Plymouth. Film noir with lots of guns and dames.

I am not an artist (by ANY stretch of the imagination), but wanted to share some cool art I am fortunate to be able to display at my house. A year or so ago, I scored a bitchin' pinstriped panel from the HAMB's own rjb (Russell). I had it sitting out on my workbench waiting to get hung, and got to thinking that the same sort of metal panel would make killer inserts for the ratty glass in my old cabinets. Not only would they be durable, but they would make an awesome backdrop for the shoebox, on the wall that is in plain sight, coming and going from the house. Russell was able to get panels cut to spec (almost 5' tall) , and then commenced to laying some wicked lines in his own inimitable style. Russell is super talented, and did an incredible job... he also went the extra mile to figure out how to get them shipped to me unscathed. Apologies for the shitty picture... also, because the shoebox is up on jackstands, it hides a bunch of the lower portion of the panels. I think Russell posted closeups of the panels in an earlier artshow, but I wanted to show them installed. Thanks Russell!!!

  11. Cool lamps!
Ya know one of the coolest things I saw the whole 12 years I lived in So Cal was a crank shaft from a truck, with 5 out-a-6 pistons attached, laying in the middle of Lankershim(sp?) and Chandler. (I moved it out-a-the-way.) (Wasn't as cool after that.)

I was inspired by another post about favorite Hot Rod songs and so these...

Wouldn't call it are but an atempt at my logo half done on my doors. Took picks at night and it really brings out the crappyness of the paint.

That, Sir, is amazing. I don't know why you don't like it, cuz I dig the shit out of it. I aparticularly like the composition and bracketing. It's refreshing to see such a detiled image of a car and not just a side or head on view over a generic background. Cheers!

Thanks for the comments on the painting. When I said "Still didn't turn out quite right" I suppose there are a few things with the reflection in the headlight that still seemed like it could use some minor adjustments. I do like this painting, and it was a fun one to do , so don't get me wrong.
They all have been fun to do, thankfully. Keeping it fun is an important thing for me.
Here's one done in watercolor of an "A" that is sitting out in the desert at this moment out in........

Funny you should mention that... I have a '39 cab and a '36 grille, and they need to be put to good use.

In my days we would say Toronto Toilet Cleaners!!!!!!! I was use to taking the Jane St bus to the Jane station then head on over to the Younge and Bloor connection and go down to Broadview and head over to my grand parents that lived off of Broadview and Danforth right above the Don Frwy. I loved going over that bridge. My dad grew up playing hockey down there when the water would freeze over. The good 'ol days! KNUX!
