Tonight I had to take a few steps in the wrong direction to get the new choice of drivetrain to fit. I know it had a 348 when I got it but I’m not sure what transmission that planned on using I can tell you for sure it wasn’t a t10 haha. I had to cut out part of the k member and quite a bit of the floor and a small section of the sub rail. I know more will have to come out for a driveshaft tunnel.
Always thought it would be really slick to make the top (of the top), removable on a “T” coupe. Maybe fab a welded in 6”perimeter structure, to stiffen things up, then fab a lightweight removable full top skin, (possibly aluminum), that covers the whole top. Not a roadster, but close enough for Wisconsin!
Looks like a cool project and I like what you have done so far. I will be following along for updates as you go!
I love it, but I might be a bit biased! I think the larger rear window is the key because it follows the height of the side windows more closely. Really noticeable in the 3/4 rear angle shots. I would have wanted a larger rear window on my old 26 just to make it more functional.
Very nice coupe. Great proportions and all the right moves on the chassis. Can't wait to see it on the road!
So after taking almost a year off, I’ve been able to start back up on the T. I got some huge pieces of the puzzle and have been making some leaps of progress. I’ll try to do better at updates.
I dont appreciate a W engine enough to completely rebuild one. It was a bare block with heads and an intake, so the money to complete it wasnt worth it to me. I was between a y block or a flathead and happened to have a y block fall on my lap.
Just a little update. I’ve been working on getting interior mechanical things figured out with cowl bracing, a temporary floor, seat, pedals, steering, and fluids. I got everything mocked up and now it’s time to start making the real brackets. I appologize the quality of pictures. It’s hard to get some stuff to show up in 2D when the background is so busy.
This T has always been my favorite look . I have a clipped picture of a green one,it's almost exact in my garage from Rod and Custom magazine from at least 20 years ago. Could be same car painted.
