Technical Horn button identification

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by heretik, Jan 11, 2021.

  1. Hi guys, I need your help to find that kind of push button I have on my 36 coupe, I probably don't use the correct name, I would like to buy another one for another car.
It's bolted on the steering column for horn control.
    Thanks for your support.

Can't help you with that one but there's a huge range of momentary push switches on the internet. Found some nice stainless ones.

1936 Fords activate the horn by depressing the center of the wheel.
Yours looks like someone is missing their door bell

it's just an add on replacement horn switch, as shown they still make them, although yours is pretty old, probably 1950s-70s from the look of it (and the slot head screws).

edit: I just looked in some old JC W catalogs, they cost 49 cents in 1958, and 59 cents in 1975.

Looks like a Wal Mart garage door opener.
