If they could get to my car, they'd probably either **** their pants or be shot before they got 10 feet away from it. My buddy and his grandfather would be excercising their second amendment rights. If that wouldn't get them, the dog surely would. **** like this happens because some parents don't discipline their kids and they turn into delinquents.
After hearing more than a few horror stories about taking a long time beyond what the 'craftsman' estimated and watching a friends 54 Ford convert sit in a paint shop - way in the back - for over a year I'm pretty sure you have the time. Look at it this way, if you have the exhaust system built at a good pro shop it's going to cost about the same as a gas torch setup would. Granted, you'd need u-bends and a hacksaw as well, but you can do almost a good a job as they can first time out. Provided you went to the local college night cl***es and learned to weld or have a welder friend who can mentor you. Even learning to weld by yourself isn't that difficult with the books and videos we have today. More about desire than talent I guess....
plus you can tell people that you did the work yourself. ask a lot of people at a car show what they did and it will be well i sent this out,and so and so did this,and this person did this. how many people can say i did it all myself? that used to be the point of having a rod or a custom car,to be able to do it yourself, i had to learn to do everything myself,i couldn't afford to have someone else do it. but if you decide to do the work yourself, maby it will take longer,but you know it's done right and that you did it.
