Hello, while tuning up my 29 model A, I adjusted the points and timed it. Went to start it and the horn ****on and light switch was extremely hot, to where I had to pull the battery cable. It was running o.k. before, some sputtering and backfire. Any ideas? Thanks.

  2. Need to see the wiring diagram for your car. Stock set-up? Most early cars had only a couple of fuses mounted on the light switch, which did the whole car.

No fuses in a stock A. The horn wire is one that is hot all the time, and the lights too. both feed into the switch at the bottom of the column, they will be wires going up to the terminal box, all others route down along the frame

I bet the horn wire going up the column has shorted out inside the column.
