I'm working on an anti-rod....the old Volvo 544 that I learned to drive in. Been sitting at my brother's place for a long time, so I get to fix the brakes, fuel tank, etc. Hopefully my son's girlfriend will like how it drives, and adopt it.

It's chilly out today even down here, not yet 60 out.

  4. 72 degrees in Wisconsin, not for long though, I'll open the heat vents in the garage in about a month. Car's done so it may be a long winter.

80 degrees in illinois today. After the pile up tomorrow, i will start in on mine a bit more. My problem is i dont have a garage, so whatever i do has to be done before snow falls. With illinois weather, that could be next week!

I agree. I'm planning to rip the front end a part on mine probably starting next weekend.

  7. I'm acquiring parts to start on a '28 RPU hopefully in late November, early December. With any luck it will be drivable in some state by May - a long way from finished, but a safe and sound ride. When things get a little further along I'll start a build thread as long as no one chastises me too bad for using a 265 flathead Chrysler for a power plant. LOL I just love those inline 6s and have a couple of them kicking around and think it will make a fun build that is a little different than the V8 crowd.

    Aloha,
Not a problem here, but I am curious, how many of you guys drive your cars year round. Do you go out if the snow and ice isn't too bad and the roads are dry. People here don't even know what an ice s****er is. Do you even drive your car inthe rain.

I drive mine year round. Not everyday in the winter, like i do in the summer. If its not too icey i take it out and play (still young and dumb i guess) but the best time to drive is at night in a heavy rain! I dont know why, but i love driving old cars in the rain.

Yeah, it's the season here too, cooler and wetter. Getting more quality time with the '33.

Don't have any fresh pics to post so you'll just have to take my word on that:D

Back on the 32, just about done with the 4 banger. Gonna take the car apart for quick change installation to the banger. Although it's almost 80 degrees here and the leaves are falling, once the yard clean-up is complete it's my time and the 32! Told my wife see ya in April.

I have a few on the table. My cruiser needs to have body work finished this winter, and interior if the funds are there. I took in an early willys jeep for my nephews, and just brought pulled another one out of a barn.

I've got more, but there not HAMB friendly.

This is the best time of the year to find projects. Weeds are falling over, leaves falling from the trees, means you can see whats been hiding all summer. People are selling everything they can so they don't have to store it, or they need the cash to pay the heating bill.....

I think it's like being in a old metal building that's not insulated, the sound of the rain beating down. New cars you hear it on the windshield but old cars you hear it surround you.

So, I'm a fish guy by profession, but I'm with you on the seasonal wildlife free for all. One of my co-workers is a dedicated fisherman. I've gone with him a coupe of times. After loading up on gear, fuel, lures, etc....I cant help but think of all goodies I could buy for my car instead. I rather be welding then sitting in a boat bobbing around. That's just me.

I have lots of work to do this winter...

Hell, Houston just started getting roadster weather. It's been in the high 80's for a week or so. I been riding every chace I get. We may not even have a winter this year!:D

IF it cools down, I'll get to some finishing touches that I've put off since forever. She's not totally traditional, but she makes me smile.

Maybe this is a very general statement but the quality of the cars at the Round Up are going up every year ! and it takes more effort to build a high quality car yourself. I went to a local show yesterday and seen a red 32 5 window it looked like a hot rod from a distance but up close independent front and rear suspension billet dash ls1 motor but what caught my eye was the steelie wheels and it set right. The guy went on to tell me that the car was built for him by some shop in cali called floyd bodding or something like that he just turned them loose on it now this car is dated ! He is building one himself now no billet a flat motor and some inperfections also known as character !!My new duece is not gonna be perfect but it is gonna be a real HOT ROD !! It's great to see the ones being built here keep it up sparks and skinned knuckles !! More pics guys PLEASE !!
