Stuff i don't think is mentioned that i got. Useful apps: Weather channel, Pandora (radio), urban-spoon (find restaurants), Redline (scan barcodes to find a product and price), Star Chart (just a neat app to show you what is up there in space, cool for the kids too). Car apps would be: Dynolicious (1/4 times and mph and HP), Harry's Lap Timer (if you race, but also TONS of other features), G-Tac Pro (another race timer), Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
I have only one app and her name is Gretchen, my daughter. She can do amazing shit on that phone of hers in a flash and faster than I can even get the question out. My wife Vicky is getting pretty good on hers too. My phone? It goes ring, I answer it and say hello. That is about it. Oh, and I can text if you have some time to wait for a response ,,,slower than dirt.
I drive a half-done car with no weatherstripping... or wipers... or speedo cable MyRadar - Tells me when I need to find a bank drive-thru or gas station. Speedometer - Duh. iphone maps - to find the quickest way Yelp - to find anything, it comes up with the phone number and a link to the iphone maps so you can call them AND find them. GasBuddy - for finding gas stations... More gas stations than Yelp. Exxon/Mobile App - to find stations that take my gas card. iTunes... I have a little 12v motorcycle amplifier and 2 indoor outdoor speakers (did I mention it has no weatherstripping?) and I plug the iphone into the cigarette lighter thingy. Pandora - When I get bored with what's in my itunes. TJJ - the only app I've ever bought. The Riviera console I'm building will have a compartment for the phone and all the ugly wires.
I can't believe it took until post 28 for someone to mention the flashlight app. that was the first one I downloaded and I use it all the time. frequently doubles as a shop light for me.
I downloaded (for free) a drive line angle finder by TREMEC, to use it you take three readings (engine/tranny, driveshaft and differential, it then determines if the angles are within acceptable limits. I used it setting up the narrowed rear end in my 38 Chevy and it seems to work fine.
I upgraded my old brick, for one of these Andriod things. What would be the best speedo app for a cheap driod?
I use SpeedView for accurate GPS speeds. I know there are others that members here like, but can't remember the name of any of them. Ulysses GPS or something maybe?
I use Clapp and Clapp Notify. They continuously search local Craigslist ads for key words that I've entered (e.g. Hemi, Ford axle, Muncie, gasser, free, flathead, ASAP, etc.) and automatically alert me when something pops up. By acting quickly, I've been able to scoop up two free SBC shortblocks, a 700R4 tranny, and other miscellaneous trading fodder.
