Not a full cap but the chrome wheel and baby moon gives the impression of a full cap

  4. I'm going to have to show my dad that pick up, he has a '40 Chev 3/4 ton pickup. That is a great example of what can be done, Cheers.

    Man....now we're talkin'....
    Killer pics Jimmy B!
There is a yellow, channelled, full fendered T coupe in a late 50's (1959?) R&C (also small pic on cover) that has full caps and is just bitchin'.
I'll have to borrow the mag from Marshall and scan the pics....

That red three-window with the sombreros is right in my wheelhouse.

I would totally build that if I were smart and stuff.

And if I had the dough.

I like the full covers (or machined wheels for that matter) that have a low or smooth profile. They look racy, aero, trick. To me, the majority of the full covers that folks find popular, especially on show rods, simply stick out too far to look good. Too much junk in the wind to look racy, especially on narrow rims. But I bet Charlton Heston would have liked them on his chariots! Good for crowd control. Gary

CheaterCarls old coupe. Not only full caps but trim rings inside and double white walls.

Personally I think that old hotrods , kustoms and trucks look the best with hubcaps ! I have a nice set of Lancers for my 55 Ford . When I get my 50 Ford done it will also have hubcaps too .
The people that use these modern billets and big mags just ruin the whole stance of a hotrod ! I can't stand the big wheels with the shinny tires on them . They just plain look like shit !
Old Hubcaps just something special about them on a hotrod !

The pictures are great and really bring me back to "the day". I have 3 cars, a 36 roadster thats got "the look"... chopped 2", layed back top and 50 Olds (full) hubcaps. My 40 ford runs 57 caddy's and my 50 olds 88 convert runs 53 Fiesta's. Hupcaps rule. Nothing wrong with mags, pags, coy's and aluminum toy's. But, they just don't look right if you like "the look". If your going real fast, just 4 dabs of clear, aquarium grade silicone on the rim's inside lip at the 6,9,12 and 3 o'clock position will keep those babies on while your passing the street scramer around "hubcap" turn. May all have a great Holiday.
