Had a 51 Lincoln V8 in my old coupe with Edmunds heads, Isky Cam, 4barrel through a 2barrel adapter with dual exhausts. In 1957, I couldn't outrun a Chevy, but walked off and left a new Ford. I used 2nd gear overdrive and that old car was very respectable and surprised a lot of people. Check out the side pipes and the flames on the skirts. Photo at the 1958 Autorama in Detroit
Ahhh, just as I suspected, I knew someone on here would not be discouraged by the heavyweight flattie. I still see a lot of the big trucks running as seasonal farm vehicles. In fact, I know where there is a running truck sitting on the southside of Indy. Like anything else, if you are properly motivated you can wring some performance out of these mills.
