Counties in Maryland… Prince George and Montgomery X-cpe mentioned some old haunts of mine and just seeing if he agrees with my assessment.

I guess things change, back in about 1970 my friend and I got his car with a 396 together…all except the exhaust……open headers. Well we had to try it out and got about ten miles from home , pulled over to check some stuff and a OHP drove up. Since my friend didn’t have his drivers license , I told the Cop I was driving. Got a modified exhaust ticket! And around that time the cops were always after me when I was on my bike with an open Kerker. And later with straight pipes on my Harleys. But now…..anything goes! I have not heard of anyone getting an exhaust ticket, here in Oklahoma, in years! Bones
Some Harley and other MC riders are positive their machines can not idle at an intersection during a red light and continually rev the engine Mine has a Thunderheader, 10-1 compression, and other mods. At a light, out of respect I wait with both feet down and my arms crossed not touching the bars. Its the best I can do.
I’m glad I grew out of the obnoxiously loud phase. I guess unless it’s really fast. Watching folks in loud normie rides traveling the speed of stock is entertaining though. But out in the sticks in central Bama, loud seems not to be an issue.
I understand, and I do respect others. The local law, and also my neighbors tell me that they like my old Jalopys. I would never drive my Hot Rods in a residential subdivision. But I do live out in the country of the Shenandoah valley. So I can enjoy my old Hot Rods the way that I like them. I've always liked Fast, noisy, smelly, uncomfortable, and just a old bare bones type Hot Rod. But I also have a 56 Nomad wagon for our family. So when I want quiet, comfort, or going to Church. I may have to grow up, { old } But not just yet.
