Hey, anyone wanna cruise well past the middle of nowhere to a really cool little show? Myself, HAMBers IMbroken, Northern Dave and an assortment of local hoodlums welcome all HAMBers to the 5th annual Roseau Cruise-in car show in Roseau, Minnesota which is damn near in Canada. We're giving away 500 bucks cash to one lucky participant along with tons of other good stuff. And we have about 30 trophies to keep the muscle car guys happy. All this for 10 bucks entry fee which gets you chow for two. Here's the best parts - all HAMBers will get a highly sought-after invite to the super secret afterparty. Come and join us for beer, good food, shopping cart rides, bone yard crawl and late night Magnesium fire. A couple of pics from last year are show below along with our poster. Come and join us - you'll have a ball!!
Hockey? If I had something to drive, I'd be in...in fact, it'd be fun to get 50 or 60 H.A.M.B. Members together to raid a small town show and take it over with real cars and not the boring junk we see up here in Alexandria...
This is an interesting comment. Two years ago, a guy came to our show and unloaded a couple of trailered cars. They were flawless and got lots of looks, but in the end, our particpants voted for other cars that were driven. Last year, a guy from Farmington Mn drove about 400 miles to the show in a rather tired looking unrestored 63/64 Chevy. Nobody razzed him for not having a "show car", but everyone though it was cool that he drove and we all welcomed him back. We've also noticed that a few of our particpants aren't too concerned when their cab gets full of smoke and a few sticky chunks of rod rubber get stuck to the paint.
There's a little bit of interesting junk in Alex, just not very much I know because my Dad, Uncle and Cousins all have a bit of memoribilia. They all drive it when they can, it's just not real often. Like during the Garfield/Brandon/etc. Anniversaries. And, at least in the case of my Dad, whenever he's there instead of in Mpls.
Oh, yeah, I'll be there for sure, eh! Along with the rest of the usual suspects from Winnipeg. That's me in the "Official motorized shopping cart of the Roseau Car Show Afterparty". It belongs to I'mBroken, but it gets passed around for rides like a drunk cheerleader! Folks, this is a fun little car show. Nice well treed location, good prizes, great party! And you might get to see the progress on LLarry's LLincoln! Ralph
Its going to be a great show guys. Everyone has been working real hard planning this event. The sponsors have been really great this year, even in this piss poor economy. The Pioneer farm is a fantastic, retro(horse & buggy) kind of place. Our counterparts north of the border bring a slew of amazing cars. They are pretty good at drinking beer as well. Almost as good as me I would care to guess. What can I say about the cart/cheerleader. I mean were else on earth do you get a chance to cruise around in a '68 Red Owl shopping cart powered by 90 of the loudest CC's on the planet. Its not fast, but it doesn't handle at all, so it feels dangerous. Looking forward to meeting some new folks, and outdrinking some old friends.
HELP! Any Hambers coming this way from North Dakota or Wisconsin for the show? We desperately need some good fireworks for the after party and we can only get that crappy sparkly shit here in Minnesota. A few multi-shots and jumbo bottle rockets will work. Willing to trade a set of steel 32 Ford front fenders for some good stuff!
Last chance, HAMBers! Be there or be....well, somewhere else, not having as much fun as we are! Nothing like saturday night in Roseau, Minnesota! Heavilly chopped, Caddy powered 37 Fords! Motorized shopping carts! 56 Chevies held together with Bungee cords, baling wire, and luck! Far too much beer! See you there!! Ralph
Larry- Sorry I could not make the show this year. I simply could not get away from work, which is something that I am not complaining about right now considering the number of people I know who are currently riding the bench. My girlfriend was up there and stopped in for a while. She picked up the picture CD you guys had available from the previous shows. I hope to get a chance to look at it soon. We had a great time last year both at the show and at your place, (thank you again for the invite) and intend on being up there in 2010. You going to have your woodshop project dialed in by then? Last year, I shot a lot of pictures of the show and a friend has them hosted on his site, HERE <---- this is a link I was also going to ask you last year if you guys use any of your hot rods to skid up firewood for your bonfires? Maybe I will drag this up there next year...
PoserMN, it's good to hear from you. I was at the registration table when your girl bought a CD from us. I knew I had met her before and I could not place it. It hit me as soon as I read your post. We were thinking about you, wondering if you were going to make it up here this year. Tell your girl we say hello, and I am sorry for not realizing who she was. I completly understand about having to work. I am really happy to still be working as well. I checked out your buddies site, lots of great pictures on there. You even have a few of my junk. If you get up this way shoot any of us a PM and we can get together and have a cold one. John P.S. You should see Larry's wood project, all I can say is WOW.
