  2. I wish Austin Healey's were more affordable, actually I wish everything was more affordable. A Junior High school friends older brother had one with a small block Chevy in it. It was always in the driveway, but I don't think I ever saw it run.

One of the first hot rods I ever saw in the wild was an Austin Healy 3000 with a hot 327/4 speed. Guy had obviously just got it running-brown primer, no hood, factory wires in front, big meats on mags hanging out in the back. He fiddled with the Holley a bit, then fired it up and pulled out of the McDonald's where we were standing...winds it way up and dumps the clutch. I'd never seen anything like it...front tires barely skimming the pavement, tires clawing away, and that shrieking small block revving to to the moon. Sure left an impression on a 13 year old me!

Worked on a few 3000s thought they ran real good stock compared most of the other offerings from over there.

  25. A buddy of mine hot-rodded his MG with a 283 back in the day.. Car was won in a Brylcreem jingle contest - so it was open season on messing with it!

  28. Here is a 1956 Austin Healy for sale on facebook in Florida. Not my car, just wasting some time while on vacation . 3878FD3B-502C-41A3-BEB7-6C08528CB17C.jpeg
